Goals are important, but they are also fully customizable. What kind of goals might one have for writing?
Daily word count goal
Too intimidating? Try a weekly or monthly word count goal
Or maybe you’d do better with a chapter goal, say 1 chapter a day or 1 a week, month even
Perhaps tracking pages written works best for you, set your daily, weekly, or monthly goal of how may pages you’d like to see written
Planned deadlines to complete a WIP (work in progress)
I love sprinting (more on this next week) maybe just a 30 minutes a day sprinting goal is what you need
Consider setting these type of goals and track them in a simple spreadsheet. Meeting your goals is motivational and tracking them allows you to see how far you’ve come and where you can improve. Everyone is at different stages in writing. Set your goals in line with what you can reasonably meet. You can always increase it later, or plan a challenge month for a higher than normal goal. The point is, have something to strive for, and achieve it!
